How cinemas used to be! This is something of the ghost of cinemas past and looks like it last saw a lick of paint in 1973. Similarly, this looks like the year the seats were installed as some of them now have plastic covers with "Do not use" labels. This gives one the feeling of actually being in a ghost story as you are watching the film - helped by the lack of heating. Hard to see how this relic can survive but I so hope it can as it would be sad to lose this unique atmosphere. Staff seemed to be friendly and the picture was appropriately projected onto the screen.
The place is old and damp but at its cost that it is something you can overlook . The main screen is substantial in size although one of the screens is barley larger than a TV at which point even the low costs cant justify going. The toilets are awkward and honestly rather creepy, I would also not send a child there alone under any circumstances as the path to the toilet isn't very straightforward. This cinema doesn't come close to comparing with the larger Vue cinema in quality but if your on a budget I definitely would give this cinema a fair chance.

The screens are clean and the food is good although expensive. There is an abundance of free parking and multiple restaurants surrounding if you fancy a bite before your film. This is a gauranteed great day out if you have the money. The seats are comfy and you can always upgrade for £2. The audio and film are both very sharp. Compared to other local cinemas this is definitely the one to the highest standard. If your a tourist or local, Vue is a great place to visit.
We love going to the cinema and this cinema is the best in Plymouth in my opinion. Yes, it's expensive but there are plenty of ways to combat that, there are 241 tickets with Meerkat movies, discounted tickets at defence discount services and the cinema itself does promotions such as Super Monday where you can get a ticket for £3.99 on a Monday. Food and drink is expensive but not only can you take your own in, the cinema also offer bundles so actually you can get quite a lot for your money if you're smart about it. I like the fact there's 20 minutes minimum of adverts before the film because it gives you time to do everything you need to do and catch the showing if you decide to go last minute (I rely on the extra time sometimes!). The staff are, more often than not, polite, helpful and quick and the screens are always clean. Only negative really is that the toilets are sometimes a little unclean but with the amount of footfall going through it is possibly to be expected to a certain extent. I would definitely recommend this cinema :)

Excellent cinema, showing a range of arthouse films and more, situated in Roland Lewinsky Building, Plymouth University
The seats are reasonably comfortable provided you're not sitting for too long. The screen is the perfect size and always shows interesting and original content

Amazing theatre. I was there working for 7weeks in the Drum with Stuff and Nonsense show ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and wow what a place. Amazing staff on EVERY level from the cleaners, to technical, to ushers to management; everyone was lovely and welcoming. They have a great, varied and quite star studded programme of things and work with artists on every level. Amazing place. Long may it continue. Photos of the Drum theatre and dressing room B31! Love the people that make this place run!
Well designed modern theatre. Large car park right next door. Facilities include a cafe and a bar. Seats were comfortable and every one appeared to have a clear view of the stage. We sat at the back and had a great view of the stage, would choose similar seats again
