Cinemas around Plymouth

Jill Craigie Cinema

Drake Circus, Plymouth PL4 8AA, UK – 01752 585050

The seats are reasonably comfortable provided you're not sitting for too long. The screen is the perfect size and always shows interesting and original content

Reel Cinema

25 Derrys Cross, Plymouth PL1 2SW, UK – 01752 225553

Vintage place, small screen but good quality video. Overall enjoyed the movie. I will sure come back.

Cheapest cinema in Plymouth, however 3 screens one of which is very small. Highly recommended the cinema meal deal with Lorenzo's next door. (You get a cinema coupon when you pay at Lorenzo's)

Vue

Barbican Leisure Park, Shapters Road, Coxside, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 0345 308 4620

Loads of parking, plenty of restaurants to have a bite to eat. I found the cinema very clean and tidy. There was a little bit of chaos upstairs while queuing to get in to the screen as the design of the place just didn't make sense. The cinema is as you would expect from the big chains.

This is a great cinema located in the Barbican area of Plymouth!📺 There is a big, free car park located outside, with a wheelchair accessible entrance, and there is a lift located inside. You can buy your tickets inside the cinema, or online and collect them in the cinema. There are toilets located all over the cinema, as well as three ticket booths and two locations to buy food. Overall, this is a fantastic cinema!😈

Theatres for Plymouth

Theatre Royal Plymouth

Royal Parade, Plymouth PL1 2TR, UK – 01752 267222

Dated sound and lighting and a lack of friendliness. The actual building is nice, comfortable and spacious. The seating is tight but comfortable enough. Well located with plenty of parking around. The sound system is mono (I swear it isn't even stereo) and the poor, uninspiring lighting makes the show feel like a School Play. The staff is very well uniformed, fancy looking BUT NOT FRIENDLY. Not a smile, not a "Welcome", not even eye contact seeking. Improving on the stage (sound and lighting) and training the staff in "customer service" would drastically improve this theatre.

Crazy for you was ok but it wasn't brilliant! The main characters were not inspiring. The singers/musicians/dancers were better but none of the dancing was scintillating. Were they expected to do too much, their obvious musical talent spread too thinly. Caroline Flack's part was minimal and not worth billing her as a lead. Tom Chambers was ok but nothing to rave about. I've never seen the Lyric so empty. The whole production was not the normal high standard expected for the Theatre Royal. Not worth the ticket price even with the discount.
